Positive visitor growth

With approximately 329,000 visits, visitor numbers increased clearly from the previous year and were in line with the year’s target. We see this as a sign that Tromsøbadet remains relevant and attractive to families, members, schools, sports clubs and other partners.

Improving operations and capacity

During the year, we expanded and improved the kitchen, furnished the spectator stands and invested in a new obstacle course and training screens, with further benefits expected in 2026. We focused on activities and using more pools to improve visitor flow. We also installed an additional greywater heat-recovery unit to increase energy efficiency and support sustainability. Planning new outdoor swimming and wellness facilities was a high priority and remains a central area of development.

Safety as a priority

We carried out substantial work on internal controls and safety in 2025. New quality and incident-reporting systems began to provide clearer responsibilities and follow-up. The year highlighted the value of skilled teams and clear operational leadership close to staff and guests.

A comprehensive condition survey in 2025 gave us a clearer picture of maintenance needs and a stronger basis for long-term investment and upgrades.

Sickness absence

Sickness absence was higher than desired, mainly because of long-term absence. We worked systematically on follow-up, adjustments and measures supporting attendance, and saw a positive trend towards the end of the year. The working environment and attendance remain priorities.

The Employee of the Year award was introduced in 2025 to recognise colleagues who put Tromsøbadet’s values into practice and acknowledge the everyday contribution of our staff.

Priorities for 2026

Looking ahead to 2026, management planned to continue work on structure, safety and quality while developing the facility and maintaining a reliable offer for guests.
